Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

Prompt: A time I was out of my comfort zone was when I climbed stone mountain with my family. This seemed like an uncomfortable idea because I was not athletic, and I also was not interested in outdoor activity because this was during the pandemic. Though after the climb I felt accomplished and it made stepping out of my comfort zone seem rewarding.

Summary: Read the prologue of the memoir Wild and answered reflection questions about identity.

Reflection: Learned how to reflect on what identity and traumatic events do to a person and their comfort zone.

Blake uses the chimney sweepers to expose how society ignores suffering. Reflect on a time when you noticed someone being treated unfairly or saw a situation that didn’t seem right. How does this experience connect to the emotions or ideas expressed in one or both poems?
