In 2–3 well-developed sentences, reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break. Then, identify four personal you would like to achieve this year and briefly explain why each goal is important to you

prompt: I spent my holiday break evenly divided between working and having fun. For the first half of the break I applied to scholarships and finished up all college stuff. For the latter half of the break I did fun things like hang with my friends and get a nose piercing.

My goals were: The first goal I want to achieve is to maintain a 3.8 gpa or higher for the entire semester. This is important because it will allow me to make the honor roll again and add extra academic accomplishments to my existing college applications. To accomplish this, I can maintain the same study habits I have that seem to have worked in the past, and stay on top of assignments in classes that I know are more challenging for me. By the time May rolls around, I plan to have steady A's in most, if not all, classes.

The second goal I want to accomplish is to have secured a job before graduation. This is important because it can help fund upcoming things like college and changes in lifestyle that will happen when I move away post-grad. To do this, I can stop procrastinating job applications and do more research on the places I want to work. By the time I turn 18 in March, I plan to have applied to jobs nearby and secured a part-time role.

The third goal I want to accomplish is to keep my room clean for as long as possible. This is important to me because I have a clearer head and mindset when my space is clean, and I get more work done. To do this, I can set reminders or alarms to allot time to clean up my room for at least ten minutes a day. Within a month, I plan to have made a habit of cleaning my room every day.

My fourth goal I want to accomplish is to stop sleeping in my sixth period. This is important because sometimes I'll miss important announcements like when assignments are due, or study material. To do this, I could take the class more seriously and fix my sleep schedule so that I'm not getting tired at the same time every day. Within a few weeks, I plan to have my sleep schedule fixed so I can stay alert in sixth period.

summary: Reflected and wrote about smart goals for 2026 and explained the importance.

reflection: reflected on self and practiced how to think ahead for the future, short and long term.

What do you know about your birth

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?

Blake uses the chimney sweepers to expose how society ignores suffering. Reflect on a time when you noticed someone being treated unfairly or saw a situation that didn’t seem right. How does this experience connect to the emotions or ideas expressed in one or both poems?
