Creating a video is more than just placing pictures together—it’s about capturing a feeling. Explain how you tried to bring your assigned letter to life in your Adobe Express video. What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emotion of the letter?

 Prompt: I was assigned letter 5, and the mood I was trying to create was one that shows hope amidst adversity. Celie, in the letter, expresses how she is hoping Nettie can move on from their troubled home life with Pa and marry Mr. __. She hopes that Nettie can become pregnant and in general further her life. I wanted to portray Celie's initial despair with Pa's mistreatment by using somber music and images, and transitioning to something more hopeful by using coming-of-age music and videos to show how shes hoping for Nettie to live a better life than she is. Music definitely played a big part is portraying a sad/hopeful mood.


Summary: watched presentations of everyone's video analysis and showed my own.

Reflection: Got to see how everyone interpreted their chapters and put visuals to a theme

What do you know about your birth

 prompt: What I know is that my birth was unpredictable, that I came out two weeks later than I was expected to. I don't know much about what the birth process was like, but I know my mom had an epidural which she complains is the reason her back hurts to this day. I was born in the evening around 6pm, and it was suggested my mom had a c-section but she decided to go with natural birth. Afterwards she had to get a lot of stitches. In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?

 Prompt: A time that something I admired had also been considered scary is during a thunderstorm. Though there was crackling lightning and loud thunder, as well as a threat of the power going out, I found the crackle of light across the sky to be very beautiful. Blake uses the chimney sweepers to expose how society ignores suffering. Reflect on a time when you noticed someone being treated unfairly or saw a situation that didn’t seem right. How does this experience connect to the emotions or ideas expressed in one or both poems?

 prompt: A time I witnessed a situation that didn't seem right was a time I was visiting family in NYC and saw this particular homeless guy that camps out in the same spot day after day. He was on the side of a busy road that we were walking on, and plenty of people were stepping over where he was sitting on the sidewalk, and being ignored. This made me feel like the situation was not right because people were acting as if he was a burden and he was deserving of being stepped over and ignored and getting harsh side-glances. It relates to the poem in the way that someones suffering is being deliberately ignored and they have nothing to do but use hope/faith that someone will help them as a way to cope.  summary: worked on reading the last few Blake poems and analyzed theme and topic. reflection: learned how to pluck multiple themes from a poem and summarize them
