fter viewing your classmates’ digital posters and reading the feedback comments left on your work, what new ideas or perspectives did you gain about your poster? Reflect on how the feedback influenced the way you think about your creative choices and describe what you learned about the creative process while designing and presenting your poster.

prompt: A lot of people commented on the visual aspect of the poster. I think it's important that your poster is visually appealing and organized in order for people to be interested and stay interested in your ideas. Organization and interesting visuals help your ideas come to life, which is what I learned.  summary: went over everyone else's posters and commented on what we liked/observed reflection: learned how to give and analyze feedback

Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

prompt: For me the most difficult prompt for figurative language was the "Negative labels" part. It was hard to think of things that people have said about me since I haven't really ever been directly told something negative. As well as that, it's harder to turn something negative into a metaphor that makes sense. It might be easier for someone creative but it's not easy for me to think of things without planning it out and such. I thought in a broader scheme of things to make it easier.  summary: Worked on poster for 12 figurative language sentence reflection: learned how to turn similes and metaphors into a graphic

2/24 Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

prompt: While creating these similes and metaphors I was forced to reflect on how others perceive me and how I perceive myself. I started to think about defining moments in my life and how it changed me, as well as focusing on what others tell me regarding big parts of my identity. It was challenging to not be biased in thinking about how I'm perceived. It was also challenging to take very straight-forward, literal parts of my life and turn it into creative sentences.  summary: created similes and metaphors that reflect parts of myself reflection: learned to apply creativity to my thought process

2/23 Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you.  prompt: I spent my time with my friends for most of the break. Though, a moment that stood out to me was celebrating my moms birthday.  prompt: Headphones, chocolate, and a pen. I choose headphones because I love listening to music and I often associate certain songs with people I love, and I would send people songs if it reminds me of them. I choose chocolate because I think sweet things are a great gift to give, and I usually incorporate chocolate of some sort of I'm putting together a gift bag. 2/11 Consider your experience reading The Color Purple (a fictional novel), Fences (a play/drama), and Wild (a nonfiction memoir). Which type of longer text did you enjoy the most, the novel, the play, or the memoir, and which did you find the most challenging? Explain your preference, describe what made that type of text more engaging or accessible for you, and reflect on how understanding your preference might influence how you approach future readings.

prompt: I enjoyed the color purple the most because it was the most dynamic and had a lot of interesting plot points that helped me stay interested in the characters. The most challenging to read was fences just because it was a bit boring and I was already familiar with the story slightly. What makes a story interesting is if the characters have dynamic personalities and flaws that make you root for them. summary: listened to two presentations about the chapters and participated reflection: learned about the chapters and the details and the plot

2/10 Even if you have not presented yet, how did participating as a listener, note-taker, or responder during the Interactive Oral help you prepare for your own discussion?

2/9 n the spirit of Valentine’s Day week, describe your idea of a perfect day spent with someone you care about (a friend, family member, or significant person in your life).

2/5 What is the most challenging part of working in a group? Discuss a time when a group assignment did not go as well as you planned and how you learned from that experience.

Prompt: The most challenging part of working in a group is making sure that everyone is satisfied in their ideas. The bigger the group the more prone the group is to disagreeing and overlapping ideas, and it can be hard to make sure that everyone feels seen and heard. A time a group assignment didn't go as planned was in my history class when everyone wanted to do the same part of the project, and nobody wanted to do the hard part. Obviously this is frustrating because it was a big group and nobody could agree, but we eventually got over it after assigning roles the fair way through a random generator.  summary: started working on group assignment and reading assigned chapter. reflection: practiced group work skills

What is the most challenging part of writing an essay for you? Is it brainstorming, organizing ideas, writing a strong thesis, or something else? How do you plan to overcome this challenge?

prompt: The most challenging part of writing an essay to me is making sure I answer the prompt properly. Most of the time I will be able to have the overall structure and information, but i'll overthink what i'm saying and if my information is being correctly applied. I usually overcome this by rereading and starting off with a one sentence answer to the prompt and seeing if my essay is expanding on that or just rambling summary: went over the components of an essay and took notes on it reflection: learned about the structure of an essay

Describe a real moment in your life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story. Tell what happened, and why it felt like a turning point in your life?

prompt: A moment in my life that felt like a powerful story was my fourth grade field day tournament. I was going against one of the boys in my class which was a big deal in fourth grade because girls were not typically faster than boys. During the race I ended up beating him, which was a turning point for me because it helped boost my confidence and make new friends. summary: presented and watched another presentation reflection: practice collaboration and presentation skills

1/30 If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

prompt: If I had to write a poem about my life at the moment, it would be about impending doom. Now I choose this theme because right now as a senior everything is impending. There are a lot of responsibilities needing to be taken care of and it piles up very easily. Impending doom resonates with how I feel the most at the moment because all of these responsibilities are probably not being met at the rate that I should be meeting them.  summary: watched a few presentations reflection: learned how to intake and analyze a presentation
